This post is a long time coming, but every time I've gone to write, a big storm comes over, and I get afraid of power surges destroying my computer.
The same thing is happening now - a big storm is brewing, along with a severe weather warning (hail and flash floods) so I'm braving this while the thunder still sounds distant.
Mainly I wanted to post these gorgeous ukeles which were hand painted by a selection of mostly local artists. This gallery has a really nice community feeling, and to celebrate the opening of this exhibition called hula dreams, they held a big party with live music and street closures, all in the tiny suburb of clovelly.

Gallery East is at 21 Burnie Street Clovelly, so if you're in the neighbourhood, you should check it out.
In a similar vein is this exhibition of
Kokeshi dolls from
subtext in San Diego.
